The Lockpicking Village and Gringo Warrior return to LayerOne for 2009!
Lockpick Village
Brought to you by Datagram & Scorche
The LayerOne Lockpicking Village allows attendees to learn about and
experiment with lockpicking and safecracking. This year’s village will
include:
- Practice locks of varying difficulty to test your skills
- Safe and vault locks for those who want to try safecracking
- Collection of high security locks from around the world
- Talks and demonstrations for attendees who would like to learn the
basics of locksmithing, lockpicking, key bumping, decoding, and
impressioning.
Picking and bumping tools will be available for attendees. Come hone
your skills before this year’s lockpicking competition!
Please feel free to bring a lock you own if you would like it to be
put to the test! (All techniques used will be non-destructive.)
Gringo Warrior
Brought to you by Deviant Ollam
Participants in Gringo Warrior will have five minutes to free themselves from handcuffs, escape from their “cell”, get past a guard, retrieve their passport from a locked filing cabinet, leave through another locked door, and make their escape to freedom. The course will offer a variety of locks representing a range of difficulty, allowing participation by people of all skill levels. Points will be awarded based on the time of completion as well as the difficulty of locks attempted. The best warrior of all wins the grand prize!
